Default Airconditioning in 94 VT Diablo

Hi
My 94 VT Diablo's airconditioning system is cool but not cold. We are nearing Summer in Australia so this may be a problem but the aircon has never been extremely cold. The other concern is the air coming out of the vents is hard to feel (not very strong). Is this common with the Diablos of this era or do I have a problem? Do I need to regas the aircon as I don't think it would have had it regassed for a while if ever? Is there anything I can do to make the aircon stronger?
Thanks again

Very common. Be glad it works as well as it does.

I spent about a year with my car [91 diablo] before I managed to get the climate control working properly.

It is capable of blowing VERY cold, or very hot.

I would start by checking that there is enough gas in the system [careful not to overfill], and checking that the hi and lo side pressures look as they should. Check that the left side radiator fan is working to draw air over the air con condensor ?

With regard to the volume of air through the vents, it isn't massive, but if you get air coming through as you should at 8degrees centigrade, then not a problem. [At one stage when trying to get my system controlled properly I was able to get air coming through at 2 degrees centigrade]

get your car tinted. check if the air hose is attached to the air vent in your dash board.

Dear Lamborghinisti,

You should have very good flow through the vents.

The vent diverter system is controlled by vacume servos. I had to go throught the whole system in my 97.5 roadster as the controls on the dash wouldn't work right.

My problem was vacume was not getting to the dash controls. In my case it was the line to the vacume services tank had split and come off while a check valve was installed the wrong way ( yeah....guess how long that took to find. )

The vacume services tank is located behind the coolant expansion tank.

If you are getting high speed flow only through the defroster vents, your system is in default and not getting vacume.

A Diablo is like a hot tall thin blonde. Sooo seductive, you just keep putting up with her crap. Buying her high-heels or headers, you know she costs you a fortune. But riding her....oh soooo good!
