Question 99 diablo exhaust manifold removal? help

I have a 99 diablo vt roadster. I noticed an exhaust leak sound and sure enough found a small crack in exhast manifold on one of the pipes. Just had car serviced so no doubt they bent it and has a small 1/8 in crack. I removed all bolts and it is loose. Two questions
1) is if physically possible for manifold to slip between frame and engine without pulling engine? Doesnt seem so.
2) Does anyone know the material a factor manifold is made from so when i have someone come out to weld I know what to tell them for metal?

some number appearing on manifold cover
Order np 102937
seriel np 999-020
PN cust 4435457

Any help is appreciated.
Robert

I answered my own question, at least one way to do it. The manifold will not come out when unbolted as will not fit between valve cover and frame. I put a small jack between engine and frame and jacked engine over about 1/8th inch which was all that was needed to get the manifold out.
Happy driving

Did it come out the top, or down through the bottom?

It came out through the top. To come out through the bottom would have to take off the flat panel which covers the underside of the car

Thanks for the info.
I have a 1st generation D. The engine bay doesn't have a cover underneath.

In reading this discussion, it reminded me of a question I've been meaning to ask.

I have a 6.0 and keep it on a lift in my garage. Every time I look underneath it I ask the question, why are there so many little tabs that look like panels should be attached to them?

They are all over the place! And there is only one panel under the front drive shaft. I know nothing was ever there because the undercoating would have an imprint.

There are even tabs in the back where the exhaust exits from the muffler.

Enlighten me?
