Default 5000 QV Bosch ECU - Buy/Repair?

The 5000QV we've been working on has the Bosch ECU #: 0 280 800 038

Both our ECU's are bad. In fact, the engine runs identically with the ECU's plugged in or un-plugged. Neither of them respond to O2 sensor inputs nor do they send the proper output to the frequency valves. Power & ground circuits are good.

We suspect they've been bad for a long time and the owner drove this car (rarely driven anyway) in its current condition.

Are these ECU's still available from anyone? Can they be repaired (I know how to repair ECU's, but I'm not going to play with this one until I know my options)? What about the Mercedes ECU with the same part number? I'm going to assume it's electrically & physically the same, but perhaps with different software because of the different engine. We have some of the Mercedes ones, so perhaps I can cannabalize parts from them to repair the Lambo ones.

Thanks in advance.

Default ECUs

If you need them I have 2 from my 87 car, that I will never use again.
I also have all of the other FI parts from that car.

Chad: Thanks, we'll keep that in mind when discussing options with the customer. BTW, what do you run now? Carbs or a stand-alone?

Has anyone on here converted to a stand-alone (like Motec)? At this point we're thinking about dumping the entire Jetronic and going to a full sequential FI system with coilpacks.

Default Ecu

I am an Electromotive dealer and my car has the new TEC3 R system in it. The TEC3 R controlls everything, FI, Ign, fuel pumps, fans and etc.
I built my own downdraft setup for FI as I think that it is much more efficent than the carbs.
I know of several Countach cars with the Electromotive system on them.
They make more power and are easier to start also have much better throttle response. They converted the intake to accept the electric FI injectors.

At this point, we're looking at going stand-alone.

I'm curious, do you still use the distributor for ignition, or are you running coils? Is your TEC3 running full sequential on the injectors?

I've been researching the TEC3, Haltech and Motec right now, and although they all claim to be able to run 12 sequential injectors, they do so by using some of the ignition outputs as injector outputs. Therefore, it appears that you can no longer use multiple coils and have to use the distributor.

What are you using for triggers? Did you add a crank wheel to the engine, or are you running off the distributor magnetic pickup? If you're using the distributor, I'm assuming you disabled/locked the mechanical advance so your TEC can control timing advance.

Are you using a MAP sensor(s)?

Any pics of your setup?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm just wondering how your car is configured to compare all the possible methods of converting.
