It would vary depending on how soft or hard the car is driven and how often. Higher the car revs on a regular basis, the more oil it would consume compared to a suttle driver who keeps the revs low. Generally a good idea to check it from time to time and just top it up when needed.

Actually you'll find the reverse is usually true.
A decent amount of revs and a properly executed running-in period for an engine can lead to very little (if any) oil loss in an engine, compared to one which is babied. |

Help! I have an '04 Gallardo I just bought with 8000 miles. The fuel pressure reads 3-4 bar, but whenever I check the oil level it looks like virtually zero, plus the oil pressure light doesn't come on. If the car was low on oil, would the pressure drop below 3 and/or the warning light come on? I'm supposed to be driving a 500 mile roundtrip tomorrow and need to know!!!

Low oil won't affect the fuel pressure i'd have said.
Go to the store and buy a 4 litre can of synthetic oil in the type recommended for your Gallardo, and stick a litre in. Wait half an hour and go out to check the dipstick. Remember to wipe clean before checking again. If you still can't see an oil level register, take another car. If you *can* see a level, fill it appropriately and then check for leaks. |
