Unhappy Gallardo misfire P1311, P0300, P1305, P1306

05 Gallardo 17,000 miles 6spd.

CODES: P1311, P0300, P1305, P1306.

HISTORY:
15 days ago the engine light came ON 1-5, 6-10. Car drove fine and the engine light would come ON and OFF every 1 or 2 days.

One night the car was hard to start and after it started it was misfiring and engine light which was ON earlier was now flashing too.

Since the closest Lambo dealer is 200 miles away, I went to a local shop (very nice people) that works mostly on German cars but never worked on GALLARDO (only 2 Gallardo's in our area) but have worked on Diablo's before. They found code P1306, P0300 (both engine lights 1-5 and 6-10 were ON and flashing when I went there) found spark plug 6 fouled, cleaned it, moved coil from 6 to 7 and cleared codes.

Car run fine, with no engine light ON either, for a day. I was low on gas and I went and got gas. Run great for another 30 min on mostly highway driving and then I got in town. I parked it for 5-10 min and when I started it, the engine light 1-5 was ON and flashing. I can now hear misfire on deceleration. ONLY the engine light 1-5 is ON now and flashing.

I ordered 10 Champion plugs on line ($12.00 each) and a CD GALLARDO Repair Manual from Ebayer Miura_parts, I should have both in a few days.

Any suggestions? Anybody had the same issue and knows the fix? Is it Coils? (are those coils Audi Coils? they look the same)

Thanks in avance for any input!

One thought. Does your car have the coil pack cover plates fitted? This was an upgrade required on early model Gallardos to prevent water/moisture entering the coil packs. If moisture gets to the coils, it produces the types of symptoms you have. The louvres on the engine cover let rain directly on to the engine. Same when you wash the car.

The problem was discovered mid to late 2004, so if your car is 2005 it should already have the cover plates - but maybe a good idea to just check.

Yes, it does have the covers.
Thanks for the reply and for trying to help! Once we get it figured out, I will post it so other people know too!

Where on my 04 Gallardo will I find the chassis number? I assume it's different from the VIN number.

Update:

Replaced all spark plugs! Vehicle has been running perfect since with no codes. I quess they needed it, since the Service Manual stated for them to be replaced at 15000 miles. Spark plugs are Champion QC59YC from Clubplug.net about $13.00 each. Very easy process to replace them too.

Well for future reference this could be a number of problems.

Check your injectors, they may be dirty or clogged.
I suggest you run a can of seafoam through your pcv regardless.

Check your MAFS. It may also be dirty.

Here are more generic causes of this:

*Vacuum leak, hose connection

*Compression pressure (low)

*MAF sensor, clean and test with multimeter

*Engine coolant temp sensor

*Valve clearance

*Ignition system,wiring to engine coils

*Fuel pressure

*ECM, replace.

Drewd, thank you for your input. The problem was solved as I stated earlier, with the replacement of the spark plugs. I have driven it problem free for 300 miles now with no codes returned. Thanks again for your input!

It's either your o2 sensor or your cat. Just take it to a reputable exhaust shop. It's really easy work, cheap labor. Don't let them rape you just because you drive a lambo.

the cat sensor light doesn't come one anymore but, the 6-10 signal still comes on. One side of the exhaust is running hot and the other is pushing out air and i can really smell the gas. I changed all new spark plugs and i also changed one of the coils that was burned. Maybe i have to change out all the coils.I'm so freakin pissed off.I just bought the car for a month and already its giving me problems.
