Default 04 Gallardo E-Gear pump - how often should I here it turn on?

I just picked up an 04 Gallardo E-Gear. Is it normal that I hear the e-gear pump turn occasionally while driving the car? On my 360 F1, I only hear the pump when I first open the door of the car, never while I am driving or after the car has been started.

Your thoughts?

What you are getting is normal. Every now and then you will hear the pump while driving.

Gallardo Buzzing noise - E gear

See my thread above.

Apparently it is normal due to the pressure surging up and down. My car is louder than normal and the lambo dealer is considering insulating them so that it will not be so annoying.

Default Gallardo E-Gear. Problem or normal ?!?

Hi everyone,

I would need your help on one issue. I am driving my gallardo in spain/marbella. There are a lot speed bumpers here in spain. Everytime i try to driver over them in the 1st gear the car starts to react almost as it would turn off even "jumps" forward a bit.
It's like you have a manual shift and release the clutch to quick, if you know what i mean. This also happens when I slowly try to drive up a hill in the first gear.

Any idea if this is normal or it might be one of those clutch problems?

please help,
chris

I have had this problem with my 2005 egear....I also had pre pre pre mature clutch wear. So make sure you look out for that. If this problem continues it might be a case for lemon law...if that exists whereever you are.
Sorry to hear about your problem

thanks for your reply jdk,

I just called my garage for this problem today. they told me I already have the latest version of the clutch installed. Also they explained, this problem might just be because the clutch is new and it needs to be used for a while then it might disappear.

What did you do when this problem appeared. did you change the whole clutch again?

regards,
Chris

I had 4 clutch changes in 4000 miles before it was realized that a major problem was occuring that wasnt fixable. So I gave the car back and im getting a 2006.

Does your problem occur only in 1st gear? Does the cars clutch engage at 2200-2500? Does it jerk no matter how hard u press the throttle...and do u have smell form the clutch? if yes to these questions u may just have a lemon on your hand.

I really hope this isnt ur problem...because u may be looking at clutch swaps every 1k miles or so...and if they dont take the car back that is just a ****ty situation
Good luck

hi jdk,

thanks again! the problem occurs only in the 1st geat and it engages at 2000-2500 without problems. Its only a matter of how hard i press the throttle. If I dont find the right throttle pressure on a uphill way or speedbump the car starts to "jump". Sometimes it seems that I cannot really do anything about it but take away my foot from the throttle, stop the car and start accelerating again.

any idea?

chris

Default e-gear problems

sometimes I can not put my egear in first gear starting up the car.
Does anyone knows how this happens?
I tried shifting it to reverse and then back to 1st but sometimes I have to wait several minutes before it realy shifts to 1st gear......?
Can anyone give me a clue?
