The only clonk you will hear over bumps is the front bumper bottoming out. I have driven many e-gear, you have a problem

Default E-Gear Problems

Is the E-Gear problem on a Murcielago or a Gallardo?

My car (6 spd) "clonks" quite a bit from the front end when I go from one surface to another or over a manhole cover, it is not the car bottoming out because it occurs at slow speed over minor surface changes and sounds different. It seems to occur more when the car is cold and is worse with any steering input. I notice it the most going by the gate to my neighborhood and pulling out off the neighborhood. The dealer could not reporduce it, but here at home it happens 100% of the time when I take the car out.

Default Gallardo E-Gear

I don't know what year your vehicle is, but there was a definitve E-Gear software problem with many of the '04's necessitating software replacement.

There has been more than 1 software upgrade if I'm not mistaken. The early ones did have problems, but in my experience I don't recall ever experiencing clonks. My driving experiences can be summed up to less than 1000 miles though and minimal city driving.

Could it be a suspension problem if it happens over bumpy surfaces? I had a BMW that had a similar problem and something was messed up with the suspension.

Thanks ALL. The Lambo tech from Italy is going to test drive it next week to see if im going mad or not. MAybe I am?

We will see. I will keep you posted.

The car is only 3 months old and has just had the latest software and a new clutch! but still clonks and rattles when driving carefully. If I give it some its not so bad.
