Default 2007 Gallardo's Whistle

I just bought an 07 Spyder, and the car whistles under light acceleration. I tried several other 07 Gs at Lamborghini - Miami and they all did it. Apparantly, Lambo is using a new type of filter (somewhere in the engine) and it whistles. The tech guys at Prestige reccomended trying the filter used on the 06 model. Has anyone done this - or experienced this problem (must have windows open to hear the whistle).

It is the throttle butterflies - do not sweat it. It is a perfectly normal engine sound that you notice simply because the air intakes on this mid-engined-car are right behind your ear. Enjoy the mechanical sounds the car makes! My 2006 coupe does the same thing

No...

I traded the Gallardo Spyder back to the dealer (without penalty) for the LP 640 Roadster.

However, I am in the process of building a supercar collection (and want to eventually have 10 cars). I am taking delivery of a Red 2004 - Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale on Monday, have a F430 Spyder on order for July delivery, and will take delivery of the first Gallardo Superleggera (yellow) imported into the US shortly.

Also, I have decided to order a LP640 Coupe, and will trade my Roadster for it when it comes. The Roadster is very impractical in South Florida since it rains so much here.

You may ask yourself why I need all these cars - like my wife does, and the response is simple. I am the hardest working person I have ever met, and have never indulged myslef until now. Fortunately, my finances allow me to play with these supercars (flipping them back and forth), and its a release from the pressures of my job - which is VERY stressful. Also, my children (3 boys and a girl) have really taken an interest in my supercar hobby and it allows me to spend alot of time with them and the cars.

I am building out a 5,000 square foot warehouse/clubhouse to store my cars and it will hopefully by a fun meeting place for me to spend time, enjoy looking at the cars and goof around with my friends, my kids and their kids. In addition to providing me with storage for over 10 cars, the warehouse will have an office/living area and bathroom. The office/living area will have an espresso bar, small kitchen, pool table, big screen TV, and lots of seating areas. We have just finished the plans and it should be ready in about 60 days. If your ever in Miami, FL, send me an email and you can come over and hang out.

That sounds awesome - is the warehouse going to be next to your house or another location?

Good for you Jorge. I saved for 15 years for my G, so I know what it's like to finally indulge in a passion. I've wanted a Lamborghini my whole life.

There are a few Lambo's in Naples where I am - mostly garage queens I think though. If you have an opening ceremonly for your warehouse I'd be honoured to bring some beers and risk the damn airplane which seems to be picking people off on the ally nowdays.

Oh, and as for the whistle. Don't trust your dealer - get a test drive in another car and check for yourself. I had a broken vacuum feed on my car meaning it had no brake boost, and I got told a) the noise was normal b) it was a loose muffler, c) it was a check valve and nothing to worry about.

after fixing it, the car is a completely different beast...

Seems like you are living every mans dream
Stories like this always motivate me since they are the perfect example that hard work DOES eventually pay off.

Thanks guys. When I'm ready to open the warehouse, I'll post an invite and take RSVPs. Hope to see you all in a couple of months!
