Raymond,
Thanks for the pictures I will head down to the local auto parts shop this weekend to see if I can get one of these or similar.
Bryan, Thanks for your input also. I haven't been able to find the inline gauges yet from the local car parts places, I will try some of the performance car places also. I will have to see if I can get a combined fiter/pressure variable unit with a guage :-) may save money rather than trying to do it in two seperate stages.
Thanks for all the advice :-)

Hi Mike!!

I know some of the Filter King variants have a place you can attach a gauge (I believe they'll sell you a package w/ the gauge and a plug to use when you're not running the gauge). If you look at what Raymond sent, you'll see some gauge and T combinations. You'll want a liquid filled gauge if you want to keep it on the car most of the time ...

Good luck hunting!!

Regards,

Bryan

Bryan, thanks for your input, I have managed to get a suitable solution from one of the performance car shops in Australia, not convinced about the quality though but at least it is functional. The fuel pressure was running at just over 6psi initially. I have put the regulator in place and the pressure is now down to just under 3PSI (in the photo if it uploads). I will try and get the car out on the road this week end to give it a test run, unfortunately I have now noticed a coolant leak that I am not sure about :-(.
I am thinking it could be time to rebuild the motor, there are a couple of things that just aren't right.
1. Low compression in the front bank of cylinders 110-140psi range instead of the 140psi that it should be, I suspect valves but hard to check with out taking the motor out.
2. There is a hose that connects the two rocker covers when I pulled that off there was that horrible white oil in there. There was nothing under the oil cap when I first checked the car to purchase it and nothing reported in the PPI but I still have that bad feeling.
3. The usual oil leaks and now this coolant leak.
Don't think I've had any luck uploading the photos.
I have two weeks off over December so will pull the motor out then and get started on the rebuild, These projects always take longer than expected especially waiting for parts. I would like to think it will be on the road in 1 Year but I imagine that is wishfull thinking.
I will try and keep people updated as I progress. Some people have posted some very good threads, hope I can do half as good a job

When the coolant leak is not at a hose it's normally the water pump.
The white oil can simply be because the water vapor in the system collects at the highest point, that's this hose between the two cylinder heads, drive your car for an hour and let the oil get 90 degrees and it's disappeared.

Unfortunately your pics don't work.

Raymond,
Thanks for the info, I will take the water pump off and replace all bearings and seals to see if that resolves the issue. Just for reference the place that the coolant is leaking from. Is a small hole right at the base of the water pump, this appears to be a drilled hole so I suspect it is for over flow possibly because the seals have failed. If you have a look at Parts manual on the http://www.jalpa.ch/spareparts/ site select option 11 Crankcase, Motorblock then look at part number 10 follow the line until it hits the Housing, just to the right of that is one of the nuts that secures the housing to the block, This is where the hole in my water pump housing is. I needed to use a small mirror and torch to see it. If you then look at option 9 Water pump and system. You can see that if seals 25 and or 26 failed it could lead to the coolant leaking out of that hole and/or into the oil. I may investigate this option before the rebuild. I am also unable to take the car on long drives as it is not registered yet, I am planning on ordering the following parts from option 9Water pump and system

20 Seal ring
25 Seal ring
26 Seal ring
34 Ball bearing
44 Seal ring
45 Ball Bearing

Anyone think there is anything else I should replace while on the water pump?
Once I pull the water pump part I'll have a better idea if I need a Rotor or not Part 28. I will also order the gasket from crankcase diagram. Will order this tommorrow if I don't get any more advice on extra parts
Thanks
Mike Hill

This little hole has a special task, it shows you that the bearing inside the water pump is leaking, it's there to be save the water drains out instead of dropping into the engine's oil circuit.

The parts are OK, investigate the prices too since the ball bearings are standard ones.

Also consider to change the hoses, they are not expensive and normally aged, you can see the ones which change the diameter (around the thermostat), those should be bought at lamborghini since the diameter changes quite evidentely. I'm talking of the parts #24 and #16, #22 is straight but order them all together.

Raymond, Thanks for that info it is very helpful and confirms the parts I need to get. The first thing I did when I got the car was replace all cooling system, fuel line & oil hoses. I managed to find suitable replacement hoses in Australia. I will order the 4 of #24 as I found that the hardest part to match up. I expect it will be a month or so before these parts get here will let you know how it goes.

Ross,
Allways having fun with the lambo :-). I haven't received any answers from George yet, I will shoot him another email. Busily getting the shed ready for pulling the engine out this christmas, Clearing out some shelves so I have space to put things as I pull them off. I have just cleaned out the sand blaster and got the wallnut shell grit so I cleanup the aluminum parts. I bought an engine crane to help with the removal of the engine. Ie lifting the car and pull the engine out from underneath. Its a 1.5 ton engine crane so should be strong enough to lift the rear half of the car with out engine & gearbox. Will have to make a bracket to attach to the car for the lifting.
Mike

No bracket needed. Rope(s) attached to the bumper shocks in the luggage compartment will do just fine. To save the spoiler lift the front wheels a few inches above the ground.
