Default Urraco 250 Gearbox Help Please!

The 2nd gear syncromesh on my P250 is worn, and although I can drive round it I'd like to get it fixed, but are the parts available? or am I on a wild goose chase for a 2nd hand 'box

Thanks

Doug

The parts are available from lambostuff and probably other suppliers..
2. hand gearboxes i think is pretty hard to find. eurospares.co.uk have an engine spare with gearbox i think.. You could try to send them an email..
I would fix your own gearbox, in that way you know what your dealing with..
The 2nd gear syncromesh is an known urraco problem. I changed the gearoil but the 2nd gear is hard when cold, but when its wam it works like a charm.. I just skip 2nd and go right from 1. to 2nd when the gearoil is cold..

Thanks Daniel. I've tried Eurospares with no joy, but I have the details for Lambo Stuff so I'll give them a try. I've used them in the past and they seemed very efficient. It seems dealing with the US is quicker and more helpful than dealing with anyone in the U.K !!

My P250 is terrible with 2nd gear when cold also. Leave it be. I think it might be the way it is. I drive just a few miles and it is fine.

jepp... lambostuff are good with parts and service.. Its really important that you get the genuin lamborghini parts.. I personally would leave it like it is, and my impression is that most urracos are hard to get in 2nd when cold..
But it would be nice if there were no problem, so I completely understand if you are going to do the job

best regards
Daniel

Default Sorted!

Just to give you an update if anybody's interested. The 2nd gear problem was caused by a worn graphite syncro ring. The box is being put together this week, so hopefully It will behave itself!
