Default Uracco P200 restauration

Hi All,

I am entirely new on this forum, and I must I do not own a Lamborghini (I do admire them though) The reason why I am posting this here, is that a very good friend of mine (but no to strong with media like the internet) has acquiered a 1973 Lamborghini Uracco. He is looking for information about the engine (timing, rebuilt specifications etc).
So if you could give me some pointers on where I can find this information, I think I can make someone happy
Since he helped me in a incredible way with my Alfa Montreal, I'd like to return to favour..
If this post doesn't belong in this topic, my apologies, but thanks in advance for any help

Marino

Marino,

I find a lot of great information on my car by digging around in these forums. Owners use these forums to define and fix problems all of the time. Most common issues with the cars will have several postings. I have a Jalpa, but the Urraco is a bit different.

Try going back in time a bit in these forums. You will most likely get a good collection of knowledge.

Older Lamborghinis tend to need a bit of work. Parts are available. I believe the Urraco has a timing belt which should be checked. Other than that I should let the Urraco owners and experts fill you in.

Is the restoration more engine or more bodywork related?

The car is with my mechanic in Maasmechelen,Belgium
As I said it's not my car, but my mechanic asked me to help him find the needed information
It's a very nice machine, the engine needs rebuilding, the body seems to be okay..
As he does a great job on my Alfa Montreal, I'd like to help him with this project (in the only way I can )

hi,
I'm restoring my own Urraco P 200.
I have nearly dismantled it and it's going to go to the mechanic for the engine.
dont'worry it's not so difficult to find the parts, just take a look with internet.
If you need the drawings of the engine and of other parts of the Urraco you can download them here:
downloads

hope it can help.
I will be glad to help if I can.
Bye

Are you sure about the construction year of the car? If it’s a 1973 it must be an Urraco P250. The Urraco P200 was only constructed from 1975 till 1977. Do you perhaps have the chassis number?

I have to ask, as I mentioned before, I posted this message to help a friend out. And he was really happy with the Italian documentation.
He told me it was for a 1973 Uracco P200, but I can understand that you're interested to know if there really is such a thing as a 1973 Uracco P200.
This friday I see him, and I'll will ask it. (Last checkup before I take my Montreal on a weekendtrip to France)
