Default Screaming Brakes

Does anybody know where I can get a set of brake pads for my Jalpa that won't scream like a cheap horror movie every time I stop?

I had the same thing on my murci, the brakes become glazed... there is a quick fix and that is to scuff the rotors and pads with a scotchbrite pad (red) and remove the glazing.... it takes a little time but it stops the noise for about 5k miles.

I'm not sure that'll Work in my case. Evans just turned the rotors and put new pads on. It was quite for about 100 miles.

At some point my front brakes were screaming like a truckload of pigs knowingly on their way to the slaughterhouse. So I came up with solution of dampening and shifting the frequency of the resonance circuit (brake pad – caliper piston – brake fluid) by homemade shims glued on to the back of the pads with silicone rubber as shown in the picture below.

It works as intended, no more noise.

ok, I had that same problem when I put some new rotors and pads on my mini, it went away after a few hundred miles. no hard stopping for the first couple of hundred miles to seat the pads, you progressively stop harder and harder with a few minutes between stops to let them cool (no hard stops at stop lights)... finally they got quiet.

Strange. I would expect that to happen but in this case it squeels with light braking but stops if I brake hard.

Same issue with my G and Murcie. So I guess, although at times annoying, that's normal.

yup, a good hard stop will stop it for few miles, but they need to be de-glazed. thats what Lamborghini orlando told me.
