Hi all,
I recently had the radiator rebuilt as it was leaking water like a thing that is very leaky. Now it would seem that the automatic radiator fan is not starting when the car gets warm. The one activated by the manual swich still works fine, though. So I took the car back to the garage, that originally worked on the rad, and they tell me the fans are fine. I suspect that they are just shorting out the circuit to see if the fan motors work okay, which they are. As the guage is working fine, I'm inclined to think that the sensor on the radiator is working fine, so there must some other 'thing' that triggers the other fan, that I'm missing. Does anyone have any ideas? |

Of course I have, there is the thermo switch on the right top of the radiator which is leading the radiator fans. This switch is the same as on the CT's, it's driven by ground, so you can perform an easy check, when you bridge the switch the fans should go on. When they do the switch is broken, if not then the relais is gone.
here you can see the switch and the bleeding screw (red circle), sometimes the radiator has a air bubble, try also to bleed it prior to the mentioned tests. ![]() Good Luck...

Raymond, once again you come to the rescue.
I'm sure that I owe you more than a beer, by now. At Lamborghini UK rates, it probably equates to a bowl of cocaine and a whole bunch of chocolate covered dancing girls. Thank you. |

A mixture of things. There was some air in that corner and the switch was faulty.
Even though the system was refilled under a vacuum, it didn't shift all of the air out. After doing that, the fans still didn't kick in, hence we moved on to the switch. |
