Default A question for the onws who have MSD

Now Ever since I installed MSD ingnition to my car. The car runs better then ever. But after two months. I noticed the rotor is burned on the top. Has anyone else had a burned rotor. Does anyone use the factory rotor or a stronge rotor.

I didn't remark anything like this, I had the original Bosch rotor in the original Bosch distributor with an original Bosch distributor cap.
There was never a factory piece, the entire distributor is the Bosch TGFU.

From the symptom you describe the coal in the cap might be worn away, you can replace it.

can you post a picture of it for us to see? It will help us possibly determine the issue.

Thank you

Is it the stock coil or are you using an aftermarket? If so what type of coil are you using? How many amps does it put out? Sincerely Vic

I'd be really interested to hear what the outcome of this is.

I know burned rotors and caps were really common on later Jaguar XJ-S cars that used the Marelli ignition. But, it was only happening on cars which the owners used a "non-Marelli" cap and rotor.

Are your units a genuine Bosch cap and rotor? Or, aftermarket units?
