Default Jalpa Trans Leak

Hey Guys,

I have this annoying Trans leak from the Jalpa that is driving me crazy. It appears to be coming from a accordian-like rubber piece (sorry for the lame description) just infront of the Trans case. I'm having trouble finding the part in the parts book. Any guidence would be appreciated. Also, while I'm at it, has anyone tried to change out the gasket for the oil pan with the engine still in the car?

Thanks again

What color is the fluid that is leaking out of the rubber boot?? Mine was leaking there but it was because of the slave cylinder leaking. If it is dark red it is more than likely the front seal. If it is clear or a grey color it is the slave.

I will look at mine to see about the oil pan. If I am not mistaken I think you can remove it with the engine in. I will verify that for you in the morning.

David,

The fluid is gold in color and has a real nasty smell to it.........pungent. This is why I think it's trans fluid. It can only be seen with the car on a lift. Thanks for the input.

I believe that is your Clutch slave cylinder. That exactly how mine was. It is the worst smelling stuff that I have smelled. At least that is an easier fix. There are a couple threads on how to rebuild it. PM me if you need help with it I can help out.

David,

I read the old threads about rebuilding the slave cylinder. When I cross-referenced the part # over at NAPA, three different repair kits came up.....all with different gaskets. Do you remember which kit you used? If anyone ordered this kit, please advise.

Thanks
