Default Jalpa power window

Finally got the old girl out yesterday and the passenger side window will not go up. I don't think the window motor in operating since I hear nothing in the door when i try to operate the window. Do the power windows operate on one fuse or two? Do the doors have seperate relays? Any help in trouble-shooting would be apprciated. The other window is operating normally.

Thanks

Frank

My drivers window is acting up too. I can hear the motor running and noises from inside the door and a occasional movement like it's skipping a tooth???
Any ideas?

Frank,
If it was me trying to resolve this issue, I would try and confirm the motor is working first. Put 12V across it and the motor should operate. If the motor does operate, then try and work back to find where you are loosing the 12V supply. If you look at the Jalpa wiring diagram, you can see that you should have 12V on the white/black wire at the back of the switch, It is hard to make out some of the wire colors from the diagram but it is a good starting point.

Anybody have a picture of the inside of the door showing the power window motor and mounting areas? There is a Pantera Vendor that sells a kit that speeds the open speed to 2 seconds. Alot of the door pieces are the same...so maybe it will fit the Jalpa too.

The window kit for the Pantera uses the Ford Aerostar setup if you want to give it a try. I would try switching the relays or buying another. I had the same problem on the aux fan, and it was a 2 second fix with a new relay.

hey emery, my windows seem a little slow. I don't know if it's normal or not. Did you get yours working properly?

To be honest...I haven't tried them in a while. I only take it out with the top off and the windows down!! Let me know if that silicon works for you.

Got time today to change out the window switch on the Jalpa.......not the problem. Before I start to pull off the door panel, does anyone know where the relays are for the power window motors? Are they on the motors themselves or in a remote location? As always, thanks in advance for the help.
