Default Rebuild kit for P250 Slave Cylinder

Thanks Raymond!!

Sounds like a plan :-) If we're not sure I can find a suitable rebuild kit though, I think I'll spend a bit more time trying to isolate the problem before I open the slave up. I may know someone who'll get there sooner though. If he does I'll ask him to post what he finds.

Thanks again!!

Just getting mine done. Is it just the rebuild kit necassary or the whole thing? It appears the one spring is different isn't it?

all you need is the Rebuild Kit, you can use the old spring or the new spring, your choice, makes no difference in how the slave works.

Does the spring actually fit in the second seal? On the original it goes inside the piston. Would the seal hold up with all that pressure?
Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff, the spring isn't supposed to touch the seals only the piston, it's ony function is to push the piston back (after you let off the peddle) to refill the slave cylnder with fluid to ready itself for the next push. If the new spring interferes with the seals just use the old spring.

Thanks JRV.
I guess where I am confused is that on the picture posted in this forum, it shows the spring fitting against the outer seal with a small potrusion of the piston in the middle. I bought the exact kit mentioned but it came with such a flimsy spring and much shorter that I couldn't see how it would possibly work.
I thought then just put the spring against the outer seal (or inside it) and let it do its' thing.
Hope it works.

Having just done this with mine last spring. The spring itself should never be up against the seal. Over time it will wear a hole in the seal. In the photo it appears to be against it but it really isn't. Please post a picture of the seal and spring that you have so that we can help you out.

I had it fixed and it works well now. Nice and smooth with no leaks.
Thanks for the help.
