Consider myself warned for what... that Raymond is extremely rude? I have been trying to be extremely polite. His behavior ticks off other would-be enthusiasts. I have at least 10 emails saying that they have tried to talk with this "expert" only to be turned away. Send me your email and I'll forward them along. Consider yourself warned... if you want to have a nice site tell this guy modrator to be polite... is it so difficult to be curtious??? I only reacted after about the 10oth rude post. Would you like examples? Perhaps you should warn him that if he's not nicer that he'll turn otherwise nice people away. I can't believe your standing up to this guy... did you see his other posts. Should I not be offended???

You have the right to your opinion. You are also the "new kid" here. Raymond has the most posts here. He has gone out of his way numerous times for countless people. I am warning you to tone it down. Every one of your recent posts mentioned Raymond. That is unnecessary. If he is rude and does not answer your questions find another person on the site that will. There are a number of us that are very well educated on the Jalpa and we will do what we can, when we can. But just because you do not like one of my responses doesn't mean that you should bash me in every one of your posts.

Let's get back to the topic.

I found your thread on "Replacing Jalpa Front Struts" extremely interesting and informative. This is the type of information and postings that make enthusiasts want to join car clubs and chat boards such as this.

That being said, I will "tone it down". You might want to remind Raymond as site Moderator that this is a chat board and "us" newer members rely on experienced members such as him for help and guidance.

I would like to clarify that I did not react to Raymond because I did not like one of his responses. I reacted because he is consistently rude in his postings... heaven forbid someone is "new" to the hobby and needs help!!!

I received several PMs from other members that I would be more than happy to pass along to illustrate my and other newcomers frustrations.

At any rate, I will take your advice and seek guidance from others.

Back to the topic.

I just have to add my two cents to this discussion. In the years I have been on this board I have never seen Raymond be anything but helpful to anyone who has asked. I have found his Jalpa site invaluable in my three years of ownership. He has never turned me away when I've asked him for help.........either on this board or in personal emails. I think someone is way off here.........

Perhaps my posts may look rude or harsh sometimes because english is not my mother language and I try to write short and precise.

If I cannot answer a question I dont' write or answer. I'm not a poet but a IT guy with not too much time to waste.

Belonging this thread, if you want to replace the AC comp. then I give the answer that Lamborghini used sanden compressors, one of the biggest producer in the world.
Then it's your turn to go to the sanden dealer or catalogue and find out which one it is, since we are not in school where the teacher tells you the solution (supposed he knows the correct one).
Since I sold my Jalpa in May 2006 I cannot go to the garage and have a look any more, anyway the information that it's a common sanden and not something exotic you can't get anymore should make everybody happy, the worse example is the clutch slave cylinder which costs a fortune.
=> Simple and correct answer to the question of this thread: NO, it's not expensive since it's a common sanden you can buy f.e. at NAPA.

Differerences between US and Euro Spec?
Why mind about this, you can't register Euro cars in 80% of the US states, as I mentioned the differences are in the part manual which is accessable for proven owners on the jalpa-homepage.

Everybody is free to PM me and complain about my posting, starting a debatte in the forum is bad style though...

I know this is a little late but I too need to comment on how invaluable Raymond has been too the rebuiding of my Jalpa. I could not have done it without his help. Not only did he chime in every time when help or advise was needed, but he would also offer assistance and suggestions when not even asked. Below is a quote from one of his posts to me. Not only did he make the suggestion to replace my radiator fan he completly furnished me with part # and pricing. So to suggest that he is vague and arrogant is absurd. Again let me thank Raymond and all on this formun for the info and advise given.

Since you have the radiator out, think of replacing the fan with the newer stronger ones which use even less current.
The old ones have 1800m3/h = 1060CFM

from http://www.spal-usa.com/ you can order them.
