You're crazy

Did your engine need a rebuild?

The way Lamborghini makes the crankshaft isn't that good as they always intended, it's better to built a crankshaft from a forged piece rather than turning it from a massive billet.

No It didn't need a full engine rebuild, but I figured I had the engine out anyway so I might a well. And now I'll fell much better about taking the Jalpa on longer drives.

Here are some more pictures of what's been done so far.

ID plat in front by fuse panel

VIN number on Struts tower

Hi Chris:

Usually the engine number (3 digits) is stamped at this location. I have VIN number DLA12071 and my engine number (066) is stamped into the casting here. Since you have an earlier can than mine, no telling where they put it, although the owners manual shows the location here too.

Where is Urraco engine number? Because most of my car is from the Urraco.

I had the valve covers gold Anodize and the fins where done in silver, and I made the rods out of stainless steel

That's a very good idea once the engine is in pieces anyway, Carillo or Pauter? Do they have standard rods or was it necessary to order the rod specially?

No, I bought 1/2 inch stainless stock, and then I cut it down to the the right size and thin polished it.
