Hi guys and gals,

I'm not going to run my car through the winter, as there will be snow and salt, etc. However, this will be the first time I've put a car away for winter, so I was wondering what do folks do? What is considered best practice?

I've come up with the following list
Before: clean, polish, charge battery, fit cover and over inflate tyres.
During: charge battery, roll car out and back again, run engine up to temperature.

Have I missed anything? On bikes it is a good idea to drain the carbs to prevent them from clogging up, come new year. Is this reasonable?

In the 6 years I had my Jalpa I did absolutely nothing but disconnecting the battery and recharge it when I wanted to drive again.
Forget all the rest, I was even driving in winter when the roads were free some salt and ice...
On the 23rd December 2000 we bought our wedding ring and went there with the Jalpa, she liked the cold temperatures.

Do you put Stabill or some sort of stabilizer in the gas (and fill the tank to limit oxidation)?

No, nothing, just filled up and that's it.
It's important to fill completely otherwise the tank will corrode.
