Default Finally gave up on Stebro

What a long saga this has been!

Back last June I decided to replace the exhaust system on my Jalpa. After looking at Stebro, Larini and Quicksilver, I decided on the Stebro system. Mainly because of cost.

So, my biggest concern before I placed my order with Stebro was "Does the system come with the connector pipe?" I wanted this clarified since Stebro was the only one of the 3 companies that shows their system without the connector pipe in the picture. Dan (Stebro), tells me "yes, the system is complete with connector pipe". So, I place my order.

A month later, system show up with no connector pipe. I call and get the "Oh sorry Mike, we'll get that right out". Another month goes by, more phone calls, more e-mails, etc.. Now Dan starts saying "We need to find a connector pipe so we can fabricate you one. Do you have one you can send us?" EXCUSE ME? Do I have one???? No, I don't! You are the one that told me you had them and it came with the system.

Next step was I opened up a complaint with the BBB (Better Business Bureau of Canada). FYI, case number is: 2059258

Bottom line is, he never responds to the BBB, doesn't return my calls or e-mails anymore. Its not even worth filing a lawsuit, since we are talking a ridiculous $170.00 for the pipe. The only thing he does, was offer to pay for me to have one made locally. Not an option in my book as I told him. I want what I paid for, and something close to OEM. Not another monstrosity like what I have now (looks like a high school weld job special).

But, this has caused me to never buy anything from Stebro again. When I replace the exhaust on the Maserati, I'll go with Larini or Tubi. When I get a Countach next year, I won't be giving Stebro my business on that car either.

Anyhow, just wanted to let anyone out there know that Stebro did not treat me well. So, be careful before you buy.

Again, thanks to Chad for helping me out.

That's unfortunate as I have a Stebro and had no issues with them. I might add though, that I purchased mine as a demo (used for display at auto shows) for $1,200 US and it did not come with a connector pipe. I used my existing connector pipe, but had it ceramic coated as well as my headers. I hope it works out for you. Good Luck.

sorry to read of your troubles. for $1200 i would have a local shop make one from stainless from scratch. or use Magnaflow mufflers and have the rest fabricated. i bet the systems sound way better than stock !

I ordered an exhaust for my Jalpa months ago (when I had one). He told me they had it in stock. One month later it still hadn't shown up and he assured me it was in the mail. I gave him three months. Finally had my credit card company reverse the charge. He still hasn't responded.
