Default Considering a P 300

Hi All, I ran across a one-owner P300 - officially not on the market - I took it for a test drive, runs very well. transmission is very smooth, both in upshifts and downshifts even the air-con works!

The water overflow tank seems non original - should be in metal??

Is the air conditioning compressor the original?

Must do: 4 tires, brakes very weak, shocks need to be re-generated, bottom of the car (underneath) has several scrape marks that bent the floor platform - no damage to frame though, paint rugs and interior fair. Full leather interior, "funnel" steering wheel, like the 250. 88,000 km, new exhaust

My previous P250 S had thin metal bumpers that were much more elegant.

The 300s rubber bumpers show their age, is there a way to restore them?

Will make an offer for the car next week. Trying to determine what a fair price should be - restorations are ALWAYS expensive - and the Urraco prices have never really gone up. Although the P300 is the most desirable of the series....

Alex

What I don't like are the missing hoses between the air filter housing and the air collectors above the carbs, if the car was driven like this for a longer period it got plenty of dust into the engine...

The water expansion tank should be like in the jalpa, since there is a VW badge at the key I suppose it's one from a VW...

Raymond, do you think that 20,000 Euro is a correct offer?

Alex,
The original water tank is in metal, if you want one I've got it.
The conditionning compressor is the original one fitted on late P300 and Jalpa (more easy to find, possibility to upgrated from R12 to R134...)
The fuel filter is non original.
Have you got the chassis number ?

BTW, the fuel filter and water expansion bottle are out of the VW range, it's no problem to organize the original Malpassi fuel filter.
