Default Blaster 2 Coil for Jalpa

I have a brand new Blaster 2 coil from MSD I forgot I had in my garage. Is this just a plug and play type install or is some customization needed to get it to work on a Jalpa??? Any feedback on use of just the coil w/ stock ignition?
Thanks!

It's just plug and play, no issues just make the connections and it will work.
That's what I made first:

Then I had also the permatune version and also the complete MSD with the MSD 6 and Blaster 2 coil.

I personally did not find much of difference between the stock coil and the Blaster II using the stock ignition set-up. The big upgrade was when I switched to the Permatune with their recomended coil......car seemed much more responsive. At the same time I did rebuild and synch the carbs so I really couldn't say how much was exactly related to the ignition upgrade.
Just my opinion....others my have had a different experience.

MSD coil and MSD 6 are going in today. I know what the car felt like before, will let you know if it was worth the upgrade. My gut tells me it is.

I had the original, Blaster 2 coil, Permatune and full MSD in my Jalpa and it was a huge difference!

Later I had also the carbs cleaned and tuned and then my blue baby run amazing.

Raymond,

Doesn't the MSD ignition require an adaptor to make the tach work properly?

yes and no, it depends on the car, in my car the tacho didn't work without and with the adapter, so I found another trick...

I just replaced my Bosch Coil with the Blaster 2....and have a few cuts to prove it! Ha Ha... I'm really a terrible mechanic....but pretty much remove the old one and replace it with the new one. Not much room in there.
Started it up and it seem to start a little easier with less cranks and ran smoother when cold. Not a huge amount but noticeable.
What exactly is the difference between the two coils??? Blaster puts out more /stronger spark right?

Correct, the MSD creates more voltage, it's noticable but of course not as much as replacing the box too.
