I do am not provoking a altercation with lamborghini gallardo owners, I have no idea where that comment came from. I just read some of the post, and thought that the comments made by F-body where being percepted the wrong way. Also thank you for admitting me to the board
. Please do not misinterpet my words. There is no way in hell I would choose any car over a lamborghini, especailly a chevy!Last edited by Handler 10 : 11-25-2005 at 01:22 PM. |

I think that there should be a discussion on how a $67k sportscar can keep up with a $150k exotic. I do not know about most owners, but I enjoy driving fast, and I find I find it disturbing to know that a chevy can keep up with a gallardo.

Good point! (Don't forget how much safer a Gallardo is than a Corvette at 190 Mph+). I use to own a replica Diablo roadster, and it was very stable until it went over 176, than the aerodynamics of the car made it feel less comforting, and the car felt a little to twitchy, especially when compared to the undiscribable grip I felt when driving a countach supplied to me by a custom car dealer located in Californai.

I can't believe some people are "distrubed" that a chevy could be slightly faster than a lamborghini, and that people would try and "disturb" lamborghini owners with this information. Those who don't own these cars don't understand. It has nothing to do with numbers. You are the one who has to live with your car- notice we're talking about owners here, people who can afford cars and not just read car magazines and watch amateur videos on the internet. The Gallardo is a great car. The Z06 is a great car. They are very different cars for very different things. To compare them is to imply they are similar. They are not, other than having 4 wheels and approx. 500hp each. If you were to drive one for a day you would see what I mean. The corvette gets no attention, the lamborghini constant attention. Driving the corvette feels plain, the lamborghini special. The corvette looks okay, the lamborghini awesome- people drop their jaws, ask to take their girlfriends picture next to it.
The Z06 probably is faster than the gallardo, mostly because I would be afraid to damage the gallardo or destroy the clutch. I would have no such problem driving the Z06 like that on the track. I recently bought a GT3 for the track and after 1 weekend needed to spend over $5K to fix the suspension, alignment, and get tires. By the way the GT3 pulled past C5 Z06s easily on the straights and devestated them in the corners. On a similar note I have passed a Gallardo in my 1974 914-6 on the track at Sebring. Driver skill is the primary factor in going fast, not the car. So one car is not "better" than another because of an amateur video or numbers in a car magazine. If you're seriously interested in these cars, go test drive them and buy the one you like better. My Z06 is on order (I'm waiting for ceramic brakes- 2007), and I also have a Viper coupe on order, even though it is "slower" than the Z06. The beauty is these cars are all good and incredible bargains at their prices.
