Yellow Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster
Scheduled photoshoot this past Friday.
This one was an uncommon challenge. In all of my series, I scout for locations beforehand and, judging by the shadows of the environment, decide on what time of the day would be best to shoot a car. With the Murciélago, the owner insisted on shooting in his driveway at 7:30pm. By the time I got there, an impending rainstorm was bearing down on the city and forest fires burning in nearby counties were clouding the sky with smoke. Working with less-than-optimal conditions, I exploited the power of the circular polarizer as often as I could, experimented with slow exposure settings and, once in Photoshop, desaturated key areas and layered various color maps to achieve the appearance that I wanted.
The owner agreed to another photoshoot this summer in a location of my choosing. I already know where we'll be shooting, and it should be pretty spectacular. More on that when the time comes...
