Default Help with camera

This for next years calander, providing we do one. I get my car back, after headgasket on one side repaired (with motor in car too), on Tuesday. That day may drive in PA for the afternoon. Then this weekend, heading to the Catskill Mountains, NY for several days. Unreal mountain foliage.
So the question is with my camera. The settings. I remember last month or so discussing settings. Here are mine and where they're set at.
Under "quality" it has for "stills"... under 'size' catagory they're setting for "small, half, full". (it is set at small). Then under the "quality" catagory is "one star, 2 star, 3 star" (it is set with 2 stars).
What setting should I use? And what size (pixels) should I make them on the computer? Please keep it simple, I'm not the bright bulb in the house when it comes to this computer/photo stuff.

Peter,

I'm less camera savvy than you I'm sure.

However, on quality you set to high.

on pixels max or large

Now the trick is when you load on to the compti, you first click "edit"...scroll down to size..click & pick "standard"....then click "save as" and "rename" & save....

then you can pull the pic up to upload or modify in a pic program

Peter,

You most likely want to use Full for size. This will use more memory, but take a bigger pic. The stars are for the quality. Think of it as rating a movie 1 star so so 2 stars better 3 stars good movie (or picture in this case.) ie set it to 3 stars.

Once on the computer save them as a jpg or bmp with low or no compression that way you do not lose quality.

Let me know if you need more help or maybe Jay can chime in as well.

David

Enjoy the mountains they lots of curvey roads

Default Whats the camera brand and model??

Bigger is better, so size is full and 3 stars. This gives you the best quality pictures but also makes the largest files. Save these photos onto your computer then open the photo editing software that you have. For this website the pixel size can be 800 by 600 but the total file size must be under 145 k The best way to reduce the size using Photoshop or paintshop is to do a "save as" and then lower the compression down until you get under the 145k but as close to it as possible. This makes the biggest pics for others to see. Then you have the high quality files that you send to the calendar guy if the pics are picked and the rest of us can enjoy all of them on here. If anyone has trouble reducing the size of the pics you can email them to newjackslide at hotmail dot com and I can help out there. I can also do small fixes such as remove the license plate in case you don’t want that on the net. Your camera is a HP I think if you confirm the brand and provide the model I can provide better info.
