Without the engine it is a KIT!!! Let me get this straight. You are going to do the body, interior and put a chevy engine in it and say that it is a true Lamborghini???? The whole thing seems a little odd to me.

When i hear the word "kit" i think replica kits. But if you mean a kit is a diablo without the diablo engine then i want a diablo kit.
I guess the price of a lamborghini engine is quite expensive and i cant afford buying everything at once (then i would buy a diablo in good shape )
The lamborghini will never get a chevy V8 engine!! Thats for sure!

Again, i am looking at the oportunity to buy a lamborghini diablo (countach) project and what the car itself will cost. It has to be a real lamborghini(no replica offcourse) but it can be without the lamborghini engine, interior etc and it can have body damage.

But a 26B or 20B rotary engine would be insane! I dont like chevy V8s, dont know why. I guess if i ever buy a project like this it wont get only stock lambo parts. The dream is offcourse a V12 diablo engine!

Ok, please allow me to talk some sense into you.

You want to pay $20-35k for a wrecked and totalled car?? And then you want to spend $3-5k a month fixing it up? Are you crazy?

Just put a DOWN PAYMENT of $20-35k on a REAL Lamborghini and then make payments of $800-2000 a month depending on which model and condition you buy. You can get a relatively decent Countach or Diablo within your budget easily.

And when it comes time to sell, you wont have a worthless P.O.S. but a car that is worth about what you paid for it.

PLEASE ... do not do what you are thinking of doing. Go get a nice Diablo or Countach and you will still have plenty of fixing up to you.

But please, dont say a 4CYL honda engine is the "same" as an 4 rotor lemans rotary engine. Its a small engine of 2.6L but still. I KNOW its not the right engine to put in a lamborghini but its light and it got good performance. I You can pull 500hp NA and thats enaugh in the diablo.
And as for the chicks.. Yup, they dont give a **** about the engine

And basistrdr, i havent found a decent diablo for 35k. 100k and were talking. But i dont got the money to pay 100k at once, gotta take it step by step.

And as for this thread.. The topic isnt about which engine i planned putting into it but it is what i can expect paying for a diablo/countach in bad condition, its okey to ask etc but dont tell me over and over again how stupid it is to put a non lambo engine in it..

No the topic of this tread is that you want to take a rare car and instead of restoring it to preserve something that may have been lost to totally ruining it. We all love Lamborghinis here. I know for a fact that there is not one car that rolled out of the factory with a rotory engine. There is no point in arguing with you anyway. You are never going to find one for $25k and you could never afford to restore it if you did. So go on your way and dream of putting your RX-7s rotory engine in a supercar. Or maybe we can put a Chevette engine on the Space Shuttle.......What do you think???
