http://www.malaysiangp.com.my/motors...me/default.asp If their last appearance in 2004 is anything to go by Amprex's Murcie R-GT would be the favourites to win this weekend's 12 hr race. In terms of race pace it would be THE quickest car on track. With the superquick bespoke V6-engined Lotus Exige S2 300RR trying to defend it's title this would be an interesting race. Here's a teaser http://mediasift.com/videos/amprex-l...ini-murcielago |

The Bull has been back in that area of the globe for quite a few years. In Australia & The Orient, Lambos have had an impressive racing history over quite a few years, including overall wins. I really can't explain why Their sucsess hasn't made more news than they have. Is it the press or owners just don't care?, because owning a Lambo is just so impressive it doesn't matter? I've been trying to figure this conumdrom out for a long time!
Best of Luck on Their Effort & SUCCESS to Them!! ![]() Last edited by ltadmin : 08-25-2006 at 04:29 PM. |

Yeah, I'm sorely dissapointed myself. Lambos basically dominate races in Australia. They're not that spectacular in Japan GT because of the regs but fact is lambos consistently race here in Asia Pacific.
I blame the lack of exposure due to poor press coverage but now that the factory has established management in Asia Pacific, I blame the factory. All those race campaigns in Australia, Japan, Malaysia are all works teams with no direct factory backing. It's amazing that they're doing well and people love to watch the lambos race. The least the factory could do is assist in getting some press exposure. The only time when they get the press in is when they launch new products like the LP640 launch in Sepang a few weeks ago. Even then it's so-so. The only reason the lambos are racing here is because of enthusiasm. The actively racing lambo teams here are Lamborghini Australia(privately funded and they do their own R&D on the Diablo GT-R and Gallardo), Team Amprex and JLOC(japan lamborghini owners club), with technical support from Reiter(since nobody else can develop the R-GT) and when I say support they have to pay for it. The JLOC team have been racing lambos for years and years and they do so purely out of passion even though never winning. However the Murcielago R-GT is promising. I just heard that Amprex Murcie which is racing this weekend did a quicker time than in 2004. Blisteringly fast |

The factory supports nobody, at the beginning the sponsored Reiter, the Gallardo FIA GT3 was developped by Reiter based on the order of two german enthusiast who take part at the VLN on the famous Nordschleife Nurburgring.
The Gallardo GT3 are doing quite well, for example one won the race of the Divinol Cup on the Salzburgring in Austria. There is another company, raeder motorsport which prepared also a Gallardo for the VLN, that one is even more uncomprimising than the Reiter and seems to be faster.
