I have a 04 6spd Gallardo, completly stock. I have a guy with a Stock 08 Vette, not a z06, just the regular vette (430 hp they have in 08). He wants to race me 5 mph roll off for $5000. Seems a little bold on his part, I got 62 more horses then him, so I am asking what anyone who might have driven both cars thinks before I do it. What do you guys think?

If he has modded his Vette & doesn't tell you, your 5k is as good as gone. There was a video on Youtube with a Gallardo & a Zo6 ( I know his is not) , you might want to go look it up. The Vette runs away from the Gallardo.

I would think that it would be very close, who's the better driver, and how far?
If it were me I would prefer the rolling start. Would eliminate mistake.

If he is bone stock and the driver's are equal you should win. WIth the E-gear you would win no problem

those vettes are fast even the old c5 zo6 runs high 11's with a good driver. so if i was you i wouldn't risk losing 5k and burning up your 10k clutch its just not worth it and you already won your driving a lambo.

Well, with AWD you will have advantage in the very first seconds (if you can launch good, and this will be your most important part of the race) .... if you can master a good launch, I think you could walk away with $5,000.

Hehe, I am glad you made the WT before putting up this thread..... Dude race the guy for fun; you should win but it will not be a cakewalk, and he could have a hidden ringer due to the size of the bet his proposing. You have more hp but AWD sucks a lot of that away on high speed rolls. Your car is probably only making around 370 to 380awhp vs his 350 to 360 rwhp. Have fun racing, but leave your wallet at home!
