Lamborghini's are not racing cars, they are just fast and beautiful, period.
Hey, I just hit 500.

I can't race him in a Lambo (haven't bought one yet), but I damn sure would race him in my T-Rex....surprise surprise....but not for 5k. Not to mention, the speeds you will get to could get you both IMPOUNDED and paying more for insurance and fines than you would be winning. I agree with all above...YOU ALREADY beat him, cause you are in the Lambo to begin with.

Lamborghini's are road course cars, not drag cars.

first off the vette is faster, even with a few cheap mods, hes running mid 11's-12's. But those rear wheels take time for traction, whereas the AWD system kicks ass in the G. First gear and second have more power in the G, but when the vette hits 3rd, he just walks the lambo. Hopefully ur race doesn't last that long (yeah right lol), or take him in a curved course instead of the straights.

I wouldn't do it from a dead stop, if you do then make sure that you can launch a Gallardo without bogging off the line. Your car isn't a cheap drag racer, don't insult it.

I could throw a rock faster than either car can accelerate, but that doesn't make it better than a lambo. For a real comparison, take both cars to any event and see who has more people gathering around it. The real winner is the car that piques the people's interest (I'm sure you can guess who'd win that contest.)

IMO and from past experiences, the Vette Guy sounds like someone who really does not want to race your car and said 5,000 to discourage you from the event. Treat him like a friend and suggest doing it for fun and the experience (maybe a few runs from different speeds), and the loser can buy lunch or drinks or whatever. If he balks at that, he's probably an asshole not worthy of your time or conversation.
