Just a heads up – mark your calendars!
The committee that brought you the Concorso Italia in Little Italy last year to benefit the Children's Guild is planning a new event for September 28, 2008. We will feature a new location, the vibrant streetscape of Harbor East near Downtown Baltimore and Little Italy. This new location promises more room for the display of Italian autos and motorcycles. If you participated last year you will soon receive a letter offering you early registration to reserve your space for this year's event. As with last year, the ‘judging’ will be Sponsor’s Choice – not traditional Concours judging. Not that we don’t appreciate the work that goes into showing the vehicles for display – trust me we do! We will also present a People’s Choice award. The event will include a gourmet luncheon provided by Cinghiale and a hors d’oeuvres reception for the presentation of awards. Registration information will be available in May. We are currently seeking sponsors for this event – if you are interested in making a charitable contribution with benefits, please contact me for further information. Spectators are free – but we will graciously accept donations to benefit the Children’s Guild. To learn more about the Children’s Guild, please visit their website: www.childrensguild.org (our event information should soon be posted there under the events link). We will also be offering for sale “Pit Passes” so those not displaying may enjoy all the event has to offer including the luncheon and the reception. As more information becomes available, I will post again. |

Just a quick update:
Letters and registration forms have been mailed to those that showed their cars last year. Registration forms for new participants will be available May 1 from the Children's Guild website - Children's Guild - under news and events. Some of the options discussed by members of the committee include the following. I would like some feedback to gauge the interest of those on the forum: would you be interested in ... * discounted hotel rates for the Harbor East area? * Saturday "Road Rally" to an area vineyard for tour and lunch? * Saturday evening "Private Reception" at a location in the Harbor East area? * Fashion show? We are seeking sponsors, donors and advertisers - if interested please visit Children's Guild - under news and events for relative forms. Please feel free to PM me. |

Registration forms are now available online through the Children's Guild website Children's Guild. Please look under news and events for the Concours D'Elegance link. On-line registration will soon be available (by June 1).
Early bird (discounted) registration has been extended to July 31. In addition to benefitting The Children's Guild, the registration cost provides a 'Pit Pass' for the driver. This 'Pit Pass' grants access to: a continental breakfast sponsored by the MAC, gourmet luncheon provided by Cinghiale, a desert reception at Cinghiale, a silent/live auction, entertainment and a goody bag. 'Pit Passes' may also be purchased for guests and all others wishing full access to the amenities of the event. The main goal of the day is to support The Children's Guild and the important work they do while having a great time sharing our love of our cars with others and the general public. There will be informal judging, peoples choice and sponsors choice awards. We are currently seeking sponsors and donations for this event – if you are interested in making a charitable contribution, please contact me for further information. Spectators are free – but we will graciously accept donations to benefit the Children’s Guild. To learn more about the Children’s Guild, please visit their website: Children's Guild. In brief, The Children's Guild provides educational opportunities for children with severe learning, emotional or behavioral conditions throughout Maryland. All profit from this event will benefit The Children's Guild and the at-risk children it serves. |

The Concours D'Elegance to benefit the Children's Guild is still a go!
You may have read the postings and seen emails stating that the Concorso show to benefit the USO has been postponed until September 2009. We would like to wish Dave and Jonathan much success in preparing for the 2009 show to benefit such a worthy cause. Because there has been confusion about the two events, I just wanted to let you know The Concours D'Elegance to benefit The Children's Guild is still on for September 28, 2008 at Harbor East. We are planning for a day of activities and entertainment. We have very nice items available for the silent and live auctions and are rounding up nice gifts and giveaways for the Pit Pass Holders. If you haven't registered yet, please visit the Children's Guild website [www.childrensguild.org] and follow the links under What's New or use the address The Children's Guild to access the registration forms. You can register a car and receive a Pit Pass for the driver, or you can register as a VIP guest and receive the Pit Pass – granting access to the continental breakfast, gourmet luncheon, desert reception and more. We hope to see you there and thank you for your continued support! Children's Guild |
