Hey everyone
Have an '04 gallardo -- first time buying a car of this caliber. Owned an Acura NSX in the past. Anyways, left the car in the garage over the winter and didn't think about the battery. Tried to take it out for a ride in February when the weather was nice and it wouldn't start due to the battery being "dead." I called up a local dealer who suggested getting a battery charger. Anyone know what model I should get, and if a charger is the right way to go? The dealer was selling a Lamborghini branded model for $170 but told me it was the same as the CTEK 3300 ($67). Am I going about this right way? Thanks a lot! |

Thanks for all the replies.
I did a search and found the battery thread which talked a little about tenders versus chargers and mentioned the CTEK 3300 and a Sears model. I am unsure of the difference between a tender and a charger and am also unsure of what I should be using in my situation (where the battery discharged over the winter). It sounds like the tender is used for maintenance but would it work in my situation as well? |

You need to charge it first. A tender will essentially sense when the battery looses 10% and then bring it back to 100%. This is what you need. A caution however, unless a battery is about new, it is claimed that if it looses more than 30% it will never get back to 100%.
