Test drove an 05 Gallardo yesterday and was impressed with the range on the lift control. However, I was wondering how much you current owners actually use the feature. Is it just a nice gimmick or is it something practical that you use often?
Also, the dealer told me that the seats in the 05 were much more comfy than the seats in the 04 cars. Is that accurate? Thanks for the info. -- getting ready to pull the trigger in the next couple of weeks. ![]() |

I've had the car for 4 years, and never found any need for the lift system. Unless your accesses are unusual, you can consider it somewhat of a gimmick. For 2009, it looks like the system is "new" (i.e. no longer using the power steering pump--which has developed leaks in previous years); it's also now an extra cost option to bump up the price, obviously.

Thanks for the feedback. It sounds like opinions vary, so let me ask the question a different way. How much clearance does an 04 Gallardo have in the front? I have a Lotus Elise and it has 5 1/4 inches and I've never had a problem scraping the chin on it.
