Default New to the Board/Tubi Question

Hello all,

Recently bought a 2004 Gallardo.

Car is in the shop having a new clutch put in. Decided to have the tubi exhaust put on while the car is in pieces.

Being charged 2900 + 1 hour labor. Seems like a decent price. Anyone have any thoughts on the Tubi? Any resonance? Any thing I should be aware of?

Thanks!!

Default Tubi system

Yep, I could have sold you at retail a Larini system for $2280.00
If you had written me I would have discounted they system down to around $1700.00.

What kind of reply is that? The guy is asking about his purchase - why would you go and make him feel bad about what he already bought?

Default Why feel bad?

I don't think he should feel badly after all the TUBI is probably a better system than the LARINI from just looking at the construction.

Default Tubi on Gallardo

I think you will be very, very happy with the Tubi. I paid close to 4K in 2004 when I put one on my Gallardo. The car howls with the tubi on it. I purchased an 06' Gallardo SE and plan on putting a Tubi on it ASAP. The price you were quoted is very good. Also, do not discard the heat shield that goes on the OEM exhaust. I had my mechanic turn it around to cover the Tubi and with a little mod to the mounts you will be able to use the existing holes and bolt it down. This is an important component to keep the slatted plastic piece above the exhaust from getting scorched. There is a lot of heat in the engine bay and my mechanic advised not to ignore this step. good luck and you will love the sound. can't wait to get mine.

Smile Tubi exhaust

I too put a Tubi on my 04 Gallardo. I waited and kept thinking that I would keep it stock but after a few months of ownership I changed my mind and installed it and I couldn't be happier. As a friend of mine said "it now sounds like a 500hp car". IMO you made the correct decision and the price you paid it what i paid so don't worry about what other systems can cost, the Tubi is first rate. Good Luck!

as michaelo said, that must be done with all tubis, the stock wont fit. as far as shooting flames that is mainly when you do the straight pipe cats.then the tubi.
the tubi sounds good and alone the car has no problems, its when you ad the straight cats comes the problems. but the tubi will be just fine. enjoy it
