Default I Can't Believe My Luck - Screwed Up My Brand New Lp640

Like I said in the other thread, I picked up my yellow LP Coupe on Thursday. Friday night, at around 03:00 I decided to take her for a ride on the turnpike. Driving from Ft. Lauderdale to West Palm Beach at speeds in excess of 140 MPH was a rush. The car ran great.

Unfortunately, while going thru the toll at the exit near my house, I managed to scrape the lower right air intake on the curb. The next morning, my LP was back at the dealer and will be there until next Thirsday or Friday getting fixed.

It will definately be ready for Friday beacuse my dealer has an event planned and he needs me to drive the LP in the parade. We are driving (escorted by the Italian Police Gallardo - which is at the dealership) thru 5 different South Florida cities before getting to a track for some sort of event. All the local press should be there and it should be fun.

Only problem is that I won't have my LP this week.

I did pick up my G Spyder - which was in service. I had a Larini Sport Exhaust installed, and also the Carbon 2 package. The car came with the Carbon 1 package. The car sounds and runs great, plus the extra carbon looks pretty sweet.

I was hoping to post some picks of both of them together - maybe next week - unless I crash my G this week... I hope not!!!

I know the feeling, backed my Roadster into a fence last weekend, not major damage, but I'll have to live a month without it. Really stupid of me since I know better than to back down a long drive way without a spotter.

Doesn't it simply SUCK to do stupid things? Especially when you know better but then just go "you know what, I think I can make it..." when you REALLY know you shouldn't be pushing it.

Man that blows...

It's very easy to damage these cars with the lack of visablility, I find that I ask someone to watch for me very often even driving into the garage. Not always a spotter around though. The rear camera helps a lot but doesn't help for the sides and front.

I marked up a rim on Friday by hitting a pothole just right or wrong, either way it marked the under edge of the rim. Man that hurts!

Too bad about the damage, I hope the repairs are done to the same spec that Lambo shipped it with.

We all feel for you indeed

Right on, but it's a lot harder to say that to yourself when you've JUST gotten the thing AND it's minor. It is so funny the way the mind works ahaha. And it's not so much the actual damage to the car, so much as it is admitting to the physical proof of your own stupidity that gets you ahahaha.

Yeah, this spot is super tight for the car. I have a problem pulling my Spur thru it and I can see in that car. Unfortunately, its a place I go to often, and you have to pull in quickly since yout tail is in traffic until you clear the curb. I'm gonna go there in my G Spyder and check the other entrances to see if any is better for my M.

As far as the bodyshop is concerned. The GM of the dealership (who has always been straight with me) saw the scrape and said I would never see the repair. If I don't like the outcome, there is a bodyshop I have used in the past (hit a cinder block in the middle of the road with the Spur and cracked up the front bumper) that does perfect work -- and this is a fairly straight-forward job.

One question. Do you have a back-up camera on your Murciellago. If so, please resoinbd to my new thread.

If rear visibility is a problem check these links:

This unit drops the side view mirrors when reverse is engaged.

Custom made electronic modules. One of them can be used to drop the side view mirrors when reverse is engaged.
