Default Gallardo problems, thinking of trading in my 360!

I found this site last night, I have a 360 Ferrari, like the car, but learning way to much about the problems they have, from the timing belts, clutch problems... and they cost a lot of cash for upkeep...anyhow, I have a 2007 Nera Gallardo lined up for a trade. Can you guys help me out and let me know what sort of problems come along with a Gallardo. And what sort of money I can expect to pay each year for service.

I did some reading on this site last night and only found cluthc related problems in the early years, any help would be appreciated! Thanks

I just did what you are contemplating for the very same reasons. The biggest thing is to go with an '06 or later model. The Nera obviously fits that bill. The car had significant revisions made for the '06 model year and addressed the clutch issues as well as significant upgrading. The change to the new exhaust was a massive improvement. The cars sounds so good it is criminal. I bought an "06 coupe and the difference between the 360 is night and day. The G feels like a modern car. The reliability of Audi with the passion of Lamborghini.

Good info, but for the diff in price between an 04 and an 06 G, I could replace a couple of clutches and put in whatever kind of an exhaust system I wanted.

I have a 2004 Gallardo (E -gear). The only problem I have ever had was the clutch. Once the later style clutch was fitted, the car has been faultless ever since. I put an after market sports exhaust on it (Tubi) and now it sounds great.

What might attract me to a later version though, is the changed gear box ratios. Not sure what year the change in ratios took place, but first gear on early Gallardos is really high, no doubt contributing to the early clutch failures. I would imagine that later model cars with the revised gear ratios would have better take-off from a standing start, with less stress and wear on the clutch. But on the other side of the coin, the higher ratio first gear is high enough to be a really useful and useable feature for tight twisty fun roads - I often drop back to first gear in corners, and boy do you accelerate fast out of those turns in first

Also, being able to raise the nose to go over kerbs etc would be handy. This feature is not on my 2004 car.

I've got an '04 6 speed (which I may wish to sell this spring); in first gear, it literally explodes out of a corner. I love the way it's geared.

I don't think there is any "significant" changes to an '06 than an '04. Yes gearing and exhaust baffles. From what i understand clutch revsion "e" on an '04 is the same as the
'06's.
