This weekend I rented a 2004 Gallardo E gear in hopes to purchase one.Unfortunatly it did not go well. After about 200 miles I was going about 50 MPH when the car poped out of gear and I saw a N R on the dash board.I pulled over, put the car into 1st and only got about 1000 feet before it did it again. This time it would not engage.I spent about a min trying to get the car into gear when I realized that my back was getting extreamly hot.I thought I might have hit the heated seat,no shot. The cabin then started filling with smoke,I turned to look behind me and noticed flames comming up from the engine comparment. After about 5 min someone stoped and handed me a fire extinguisher so the car is not a total.Needless to say there is alot of dammage.Does anyone know why this would happen??How this could happen???

WOW, sorry to hear!!! Have seen many Lambo's and Ferraris in flames over the past few years... Luckily you are okay and did not get hurt.
Fire extinguisher is a must!

There are many Models that are small enough to fit either in front of the passenger seat or in the front trunk!!! Try to get Halon or CO2 type to put out the fire & prevent ruining whatever you spray!!! The Powder Types are Messy & Corrosive!!! I will Find anyone that wants the correct size & type an Extingusher at my cost!!!! |

The lines by the Firewall are the most suspect Raymo, pull off the center cover and rear deck and crawl up to the firewall & do a very careful inspection, and also inspect all the hoses under the cover after that for any signs of dry rot like old tires.
