CONGRATS Verde!! Wow..your parents are tough! You should be extremely proud of yourself!
I was brought up in a pretty strict (Military family w/ Warrant Officer -Pilot (Father) & Brig. General (Grandfather) and I can tell you that intelligence is NOT necessarily based on a test score or ranking (albeit...you don't have this problem)...just curious as to what your parents ranked in the country??

Thanks very much!
My parents are very proud of me, but they were surprised that I ranked in the top 4.65% considering I was well on track to ranking in the top 1% at minimum. I was also quite surprised, to be honest.
Wow - it sounds like your family would have been very strict! You're absolutely right about intelligence not being based on a test score or ranking though.
My parents were actually born in Bulgaria to Turkish families. My mum moved to Turkey with her family in her teens and my dad left Bulgaria and moved around Europe for a few years (he actually spent a few years in Italy) before moving to Turkey and meeting my mum. They then got married and moved here.
They're very hard-working small business owners and really value education. That's why I was lucky enough to go to high-school at the first or second I think most expensive private schools in Australia.
I accepted an offer from The University of Melbourne in their Bachelor of Commerce degree.
It's the number 1 university in Australia and their BComm degree is number 1 in all of Asia-Pacific, I believe. I feel so proud to be able to see that I'm doing this prestigious degree after graduating from one of the most elite private schools in the country. I say that with absolute humility, by the way.
