Pop up headlight conversion on early Diablo?

First want to mention that I don't own a Diablo yet but hope to change that in the near feature. Looking at some early Diablos I noticed that some of them don't have pop up headlights anymore, they have been replaced with some sort of fixed units.. I like this look, was this an option from Lamborghini or a common conversion by owners? Here is what I am talking about:

pluss it was the pop ups that came before the fixed....

I didn't fraze that correctly, I do know the fixed come after the pop up ones.
Searched the archives, did not find anything on this. Anyone want's to elaborate?
