getting the lever to hook back up to the wire was a night mare.

Not hard at all to fit. All you need is a finger nail to remove the sticky back and put it on the door. Probably 10 seconds max.

You're right. It is the same piece. Even the early Murcielago uses it.

I guess I need to buy a new assembly then, parts manual only shows the complete assembly including lever.
Probably no alternative unless one of you guys has a part laying around....
