Default Air intake

I have not driven my car for a few months and i have gone over a lot of things on it before i drive it.. One thing i have noticed is i have a slight drip of oil or seems like dark oily film betwwen the air box and intake pipe. Can anyone tell me if this is a problem..

Thanks

Carlo

Thank you JRV.

Less than 10 minutes for a reply if only my dealer got back to me this way..

Does it just need a good run or could it spell a problem is on its way.

Thanks again

Carlo

Hi Carlo,

start out slow and simply keep an eye on the gauges, after 10 or 15 pull over have a quick look, if everything is ok...enjoy to it's fullest. Cars need excersise like Horses (believe it or not )...let the muscles stretch a little bit and then work them up to speed.

It could be excess oil on the air filters if you are using oil coated filters like K&N. It won't hurt anything.
