Default new Jalpa owner

hi ...i have found this board to be an invaluable resource and have been lurking for over 2 years...in november 07 I purchased GLA12276, a white on white 86 jalpa...for the past few months i have been enjoying the car, compiling "fix-it" lists and creating reasons to drive somewhere with the targa top stored...there is nothing quite like the sound of an italian car!!!! Again thanks for such a wonderful resource!

It's the white Ebay Jalpa from AutoQuest.

Congrats, I suppose you had a lot to clean inside...

thanks guys...yes it is the one from ft myers...raymond thanks for the pics..i have not had a chance to do a search and explore how to post pics..i will get to this soon...and yes,the interior was cleaned prior to purchase..raymond, your jalpa site is awesome..i will try and get some id number pics for that site and register the car..i am having a great time tackling minor issues with the car...i will create a new thread for florida people this weekend to explore get togethers...i am located in east central florida...this has been a dream to assemble my eclectic "dream garage" that has resided in my head for years...i have owned nothing but sports cars (mainly italian and british) for over 30 years but never simultaneously...the jalpa is fourth in the mini-collection...i have three more to go in the next couple of years...lambotsavy ,your location is a source of curiosity..i sold my keys home 5 years ago and bought a little place in the abacos...small world indeed!

I was born in Nassau, Bahamas and continue to run my businesses from there. I travel between Nassau and Tampa weekly. The Abaco's and all the Out Islands of the Bahamas are awesome. Are you in Marsh harbour, Green Turtle cay or Coopers Town where Hubert Ingraham was born. What area in Florida are you located as I have a superb mechanic in Tampa who completely restored my Jalpa engine.

Congratulations on your purchase. I am sure you remember the white on white Jalpa on Miami vice. What other cars are in your collection?

lambotsavy..we are located at the bluff house resort in beautiful green turtle..i am currently trying to sort out an ignition issue(yes, i read the many posts on permatune!) but struggling with a lack of knowledgeable mechanics in my area..i may throw in the towel after this next guy and take you up on your tampa offer..i am in melbourne directly across the state from you!...Earlycat, they are cars that appeal visually to me so to most they won't make any sense....2002 viper gts coupe red with silver stripes, last year of the "curvy" coupe..this is my muscle beast...2004 mini cooper which will be going to my daughter soon in a few months when she graduates...fun little car that handles better than i ever expected...57 chevy resto rod...all modernized from suspension to electronics to creature comfort..very reliable and inexpensive to own..i can get this one serviced anywhere and strangely,it gets more looks and thumbs ups than the lambo OR the viper..this is my "practical" car...luggage,christmas trees,bikes..it is so huge it swallows everything!! kind of like a very cool SUV...i think i will have to pause on the next two as i have a son in college already and a daughter following this fall...amazing how much money that absorbs...2009 i would like to add a 2005/2006 maserati gransport coupe followed by a Ferrari 308...i owned a gt4 before but really preferred the lines of the gtb...thanks for asking
