lynn,

congrats on the purchase! i actually spoke to (i think it was "ken"?) regarding the jalpa and was going to drive over there to see (i'm in SE florida) - but i couldn't get clear cut answers from him...all my questions were answered w/"it's in good shape". acutally after deciding not to drive over based on the vague answers...i dropped my jalpa search. having said this, raymond was right...that car looks much nicer in your garage than it did when it was for sale.

could you kindly tell me what problems (if any) you've found w/the car so far...cosmetically it looks fantastic (its my favorite color combo too) - if there's not many issues with it...i will feel foolish for not having gone to see it. best of luck w/it...its really beautiful in white!

slycy...nothing major to report...one unhappy instance with a local"high end" shop that ran a bill up on me and messed up a few things..lesson learned..i have done a lot of clean up and sorting but nothing that amounted to much$$...even got the a/c to work well :-) ....the dealer was pretty negotiable on his price and i did have a PPI done...also drove down to take a look...i have a ticking sound that developed in the last 3 weeks that could be something(?)..but that occurred just recently...it is annoying because it is inconsistent...i can't always replicate it...it is,after all,a 22year old italian car...that says a lot...by the way, i never got any response from florida guys about a car show next month(posted in main section)..i was going to organize a little gathering for socializing...i might push this a little harder over the summer...thought it would be fun....

lynn,

sounds like no serious issues w/the car. color combo is fantastic. best of luck w/it...

if you arrange something if south FL, keep me posted. after i dropped my jalpa search, i purchased a silver '89 928 S4 that was in a time warp w/32k miles on it - this was another car i wanted and took me a yr to find it...after 2 yrs for the jalpa, i somewhat gave up...but your purchase (and the silver one that was just sold in tx) has gotten me a bit excited to start slowly looking again. if you ever get the meet put together and it is further south from where you are, maybe i can drop in on it. best of luck...keep us posted on your car, issues, joys, pictures etc...

Lynn,

Thanks. I enjoyed breakfast and talking with you and the ride in the Jalpa. I'll stay in touch and let you know when I'm in town again.

Also, if you (or anyone else) gets out to So. Cal. drop me a PM.

I'm new to the area, and I've never heard of Santa Paula, but I live in the South Bay. That's southern LA County, south of LAX. I'll look up Santa Paula and see how far it is. If you get back this way, drop me a line - I'm a displaced Midwesterner, so we can talk Big 10 Football in addition to Lambos!
