Default New Jalpa Exhaust

Just finished having my custom exhaust put in. Took the Cats and old USA system off and replaced it with two 40 series Flowmaster mufflers and tips that are about a inch longer and inch wider in diameter. Sounds much better now...but would like it even louder!! But I'll try this set up for awhile. cost me $650 installed. Not bad. I'll try to post a picture.

Larger "finished" photo wouldn't load. I'll have to take another. All painted black and hidden behind the stock grating.

I think we need a picture from behind of the fully finished exhaust (black with the protective mesh installed).
It appears that the exhaust gas from the two engine banks is kept separate (not mixed). This will make it sound more like two 4-cylinder cars.

If you want it louder then skip the mufflers. In that case I would use the US mixer box with tips and keep the exhaust gas path from each bank about the same length before being mixed. This would make it sound more like a (European) V8.

That makes alot of sense. So if I just put in a test pipe and remove the cats it should sound louder and more european? Thanks Laust!

Emery, Aloha buddy. Sorry I never got back to you. Congrats on the Jalpa! Great looking Lamborghini. You got to love the bravo wheels on the Jalpa. How do you like compared to the Pantera?

Hi Greg
I like it alot. Not as fast or loud as my Pantera ,but has alot of class! I love the Targa top here in Hawaii!
Did you ever find a larger wheel for the Countach? Just love your CT!! neat color.
Aloha

Emery, that’s true.
I would also have the parts thermally coated inside and outside for a couple of reasons. It will be slightly louder with a little more high frequency content (faster exhaust gas), will lower the temperature in the engine and luggage compartments, lower the risk of frying the paint under the bumper and the coating is also a decent rust protection.
If you want minimal down-time then the pipe under the gearbox can be thermally wrapped instead, but that requires no oil leaks in that area (the wrapping can act as a wig for the flammable oil).
