Default Jalpa/Urraco heater core

People, When I purchased my Jalpa it came without a heater core :-(. I am trying to source one and a few of the other associated parts. I have included the image pointing out the parts I am trying to get. I am reasonably sure it won't matter if its from a Urraco or Jalpa if anyone can help out let me know :-)

Thanks

Mike

I'm sorry for you but it is quite different from the one Urracos mount.
I have mine in the hands because I'm restoring my Urraco and I can say that:
the air intake in the bottom part is totally different from the beginning until the ventilator; than, it just seems to be the same (not sure) until the hot air exit.
there it's again totally different.
mine has got two bottom holes for feet heating and the upper part has got different shape.
so, I think, seen the parts you would have to modify, it's better if you look for a Jalpa one.

if I remember I will post some pics of mine!

bye

GT Car Parts might be a good place to check for the cables. They make their own for the Jalpa. I bought one for my choke on the Jalpa and it was a perfect match. They also might have a lead on a heater core. Call Bill or Dave at:
(623) 780-2200

Also, Eurospares is parting out a Jalpa, maybe they still have the heater core and valve? http://www.eurospares.co.uk/breaking2.asp?page=54

Have you called or wrttien to Eurospares in the UK. They have a car they have been "breaking" for a while. You can also try lambostuff.com and call a few dealers... The prices on some and I do mean only some Jalpa parts is very reasonable.

Thanks for all the replies :-)
Luke72 the parts that are left in my car also don't look very similar to what is in the diagram, the main part I am after is the heater core the rest can be made reasonably easily or adapted to fit. My car was converted from left hand drive to right hand drive when it was in Singapore, and they have made a few modifications them selves. There appears to be a bar that runs from the front of the bay to the back that they have cut out. I will try and get a picture to show what I mean.
Jalpa_Mike, I will put those guys on file I imageine I can probably source the cables locally but If I was able to get some out of a Urraco or Jalpa it may have been easier to get all the parts together :-)
Rovingtravler thanks for the heads up, I will send them an email and see if they still have the heater core available.

Thanks

Mike Hill

Default Heater photos

Luke72,
I have included a photot of what is left of my heating system (not much). You can see by what is there that you could probably fit the system from a Urraco I image. I only have the fan and some of the pipes. The heater core is probably hte main part I would need I could probably make the rest if I cannot source them.
No replies back from eurospares to advise if they have one or not. Will let you know if they do

hey man, it's really different from mine.
the fan is bigger and you need nearly the 90% of the parts.
tomorrow I will make a lot of photographs of mine (it's now out of the car)
and then I will post them so you can see the different parts.

as I've already told you probably it's better if you look for a original jalpa one.

Bye

Luke,
Thanks for the reply, I had a look at the part numbers for both and the heater cores are the same, so if anyone has a Urraco heater core, PM me what you would like for it, PS still no replies from eurospares. I can possibly manufacture the other parts if I can not source them. Get well soon
Mike
