What is the easy fix for the Clutch Slave? Is that the one detailed on jalpa.ch?

I seem to be going through rather a lot of fluid at the moment...

Ahh, I think I've found it.

So I need to get the Raybestos CSK1359 Clutch rebuild kit and use that to rebuild the existing one. Use the fitting guidleines, from http://www.jalpa.ch/Problems/index.html, correct?

Or I could spend a lot of money on a new part: http://www.lambostuff.com/Product.asp?prid=1694

Unless of course its a problem with the line.... I'll learn to look, before I reply.

Simon:

There were two different Clutch Slaves used on the Jalpa. The first 104 Jalpa's used the less expensive unit (2106604) which is about $155.00 from LamboStuff. All Jalpa from 105 through the end of production used the higher priced (2120932) which is $618.29.

Thank God my Jalpa is #71 and uses the less expensive unit!

That's hard to beat, I paid about $30 for an "authorized" (slave cylinder) rubber seal (grommet) from GTCP. It was a little difficult to put on, but it works perfectly.

The old grommet had just lost its tension with age.

Thank you all for your help. I've been having some fun trying to find that part, here in the UK. Some places won't ship it here, the shipping cost is ridiculous or it is not listed.

However, a browse on Rock Auto's site lists the kit as being suitable for a Toyota Corrolla 1.6 You can see it listed here.

So what I am thinking is going to visit a local store and get a kit for this vehicle and see if it fits. Seem sensible?

Hi there everybody,

I managed to get it all sorted, via UPS. The shipping cost was a bit steep, but for the piece of mind, the time involved I bit the bullet and got UPS to sort it all out.

Turns out the 7.40USD part costs 74USD to ship, it was only another two dollars to get two, so I have a spare or a backup. In case I screwed up.

The only difference I found was that, here in the UK, we have a 'dirty' version, as there is no air pump, etc as shown in Raymond's photos.

I was amazed how easy the car came apart, with a few exceptions, notably the bleed nipple and the gearbox breather.

If you're interested I keep somthing of a record of any work over on my msn space: http://sclayto2.spaces.live.com/

So thank you very much for all your help.
