Default Jalpa - now she's gone

This morning at 10h50 am she left us for ever.
The new owner carried her off and drives to her place of birth in Italy where the meeting of the Lamborghini Classic Club Germany will take place, after St.Agata she will visit the wineyard of Ferrucio and finally drive back to Germany where the new owner lives.

30t KM in 6 years 1 Month and 11 days she was a reliable companion, free of incidents and gave us a lot of joy. We hope the new owner will have as much fun with here like we had in the last years.

My favorite picture:

Like this it began in April 2000:

Also this was part of the game:

Now she looks even more beautiful than before:

Raymond:

It sure is tough selling a car you've had for so long, eh? I know I feel the same way about my 1980 Maserati 4Porte! I've owned that car since 1988! 18 years I've had her! I've only owned my Jalpa for 5 years, and don't know if I could ever sell her.... unless the right Countach came along..... maybe I would keep them both! hahahaa...

Any thoughts on what you will replace your Jalpa with?

A house with 4 garage places and a lift, I have 2 Countachs, 1 Porsche and my wife's car to store.
With the lift I can work more on my own at home.

congrats for the new house
we are waiting for pics

p.s. i know the jalpa looses some sense when you have also a countach, but i saw the white one with bravo wheels from autospeak last week and i can tell you for sure that car is a beauty

yes, eric's CT once the engine is running again, to make a bad joke:
What do you expect to be ready first, my house or Eric's CT?

I can't believe the bad luck this Tahiti caused, never expected things like this.

Though I'm sanding the valve covers I got from chad, the casting quality of these original parts can at maximum be classified as loosy.

Raymond,
this is really bad ....but somehow funny (just kiddin Eric, hope everything
works fine for you from now )

for what i can see house building or restoring is not that fast and easy to , best of luck

p.s. for all you swiss and US guys: be more kind with italian engineering and electrics,
ok we are not always that good to be honest
and i know we lack some "refinment" or detail attention
.... but where you can find such beautiful cars and breathtaking engines?

hi guys

Raymond,

Should we, the remaining Jalpa owners and other interested parties, be concerned about the continuation of your excellent www.jalpa.ch site?
Or asked differently, what are your future plans with it?

Laust

My thinking, knowing Raymond MANY YEARS NOW, he will never give up!!!!

There are not many of us like Raymond!! He has done so many things even the Factory didn't do, and being the same type, you just can't quite let go ever!! It gets in your blood!

no worries, Jalpa.ch will stay online and be maintained... as I wrote I installed my ignition box on another Jalpa just 6 miles from my home.
This owner rerstored FLA12234 completely and I will ask him for the picture CD, he's fallen into some of the traps and would be a great addition to the site.

Thanks John,
of course I'll not giving up anything, it was a brain decision to sell it but the heart felt really sad when we saw our beloved baby driving away for ever...
