Thanks again Redlambo!

I purchased the Amp Meter and it is as new! I won't be putting it in my Jalpa but it will be added to my collection of vintage parts and put on display in my office or hallway eventually!

Ross,
Good to see the engine back in, I just posted a question inquiring about the drive shafts, I then had a look at your recent posts and found the picture that may answer my questions :-)
Thanks
Mike

Since the car was new it seems unlikely that it could be the piston rings. The original owner never modified the filters either. It seems the problem must be caused by something else.

George and Mike found something else. Is it possible this could happen at the factory during assembly? The picture shows a vent valve? George said that one of them was in backwards?

What do you think? Is it possible? I know the engine at one point had the valve seats replaced and it might have happened then but the dipstick blow out happened prior to that.
Ross I do not believe that is a vent valve and I do not belive it would cause the problem mentioned. It is an oil restrictor which goes in the engine block between the cylinder deck and the cylinder head. It is placed cone shape down and restricts the flow of oil to the heads.

Sincerely Vic

PS: I am glad that you are pleased with the amp meter

Ross that is sooo cool! Several of you guys have really raised the bar on what a Jalpa engine should look like. Congrats to Mike for that kind of work.
