Default Jalpa Euro Engine Update

Thought some of you might like to see a couple of picks as Evans tears into my engine to replace the sodium valves with stainless and to look it over.

Ross

Now that you have the engine out you need to replace the engine mount brackets with Raymond's brackets. Go to Raymonds site for further info. Link below.

this link is better: http://www.jalpa.ch/mounts.html

I have 10 sets in stock, just got a new delivery 10 days ago.

The engine looks really in need of some professional attention, it's good that you haven't driven it.

Evans fired it up for a few minutes to have a listen but other than that it wasn't touched. I had Evans pick it up in their enclosed. It was about 2 hours from their shop. It's nice to have such a pro team work on this and I'm lucky enough that they are only an hour away. I'm a pretty good wrench but I'm a little scared of this one. When it's done I want to drive it without worry.

Evans does good work. They try to start an engine, and make notes on everything before a tear down. Keep posting the pictures!

Default Rebuild update

I stopped by late last week. He's so busy my engine is somewhere in line but setting on a pallet at the moment. Maybe I can give an update sometime this week. Everyone have a good week out there.

Default Tear-down

George and Mike at Evans Automotive started the tear-down last week! Here's some pics of the bad:

What's everyone think about the close-up of the head?

Here's some more pics of the tear-down. It's sure dirty but it's still easy to see it's a piece of art.

Thanks Madlyhs! I just read through your rebuild. Now that's an amazing thread! Evans is rebuilding mine but after reading through your rebuild it makes me want to find a project car to keep me busy during our long cold winter.
