The engine looks great. I can't wait to see it back in the car. I know it seems like it takes forever to complete but once done you will love every minute. Great Job!!

Thanks guys. I'm pressed for free time at the moment but hope to have it all back together in a couple of months, its winter down under and not keen to do any of the painting while its raining outside, I'm sure its nothing like what Ross has to deal with but prefer the warm dry days if I'm painting.

That does look awesome. It is very inspiring to see the continued progress and having it documented for the future.

So you actually found some better fitting Konis for the front struts, that’s good to know.
Are you going to tackle the rear struts as well? I will in the “near future”, but don’t mind others being the “trail blazer”.

Laust,
I did do the rear shocks, I will do the fronts once I get the engine back in, I actually thought that they were the same front and rear but I guess I will find out when remove the fronts. I used the Koni 8610-1437 for the rears. As the shocks you used are not available in Australia I imagene they will just match up something suitable, I will advise what they use when I get them done.
McLellan, I am also concerned that the motor will loose its shine, I am planing on trialing a clear coat on some components to see how it goes, If it holds up then I may coat the engine and gearbox in the clear coat.

I obviously read you post (and picture) too quickly, so now we know what fits in the back.

Here is a reference to the shocks from Koni (2.25MB PDF file): http://www.koni-na.com/pdfcatalogs/K...ortCatalog.pdf

Btw, it can be a little tough to keep the numbers straight: In post # 49 you said you went with 8641-1038 (I went with the 8610-1437 for the front).

It's looking great Jalpa_Aus. Why don't you come up to for the Italian Gathering the last day of August and enjoy some of our warm Ohio weather? You can take my Jalpa and I'll take the Ducati. I'll put you up.
